GreenTouch @ Lake Bemidji State Park

Beltrami Electric Cooperative is calling on volunteers of all ages for GreenTouch, a volunteer event to help prepare Lake Bemidji State Park for its 2024 season. This year’s event will be held on Thursday, May 16, from 3:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

• Volunteers will help rake leaves pick up tree debris, clean windows of the picnic shelter and other buildings, trash pickup, highway cleanup, and more.
• Youth groups, service clubs, and other organizations are welcome to participate in GreenTouch.
• You need not be a Beltrami Electric Cooperative member to volunteer.
• Volunteers will need to check in at the park office for a free permit for the park that day.
• A grilled picnic lunch will be provided for volunteers at 5:30 p.m.

Celebrate Jesus-Grand Cities @ Grand Forks Town Square

The Grand Cities Organizers for Celebrate Jesus invite YOU to be a part of a “special celebration” on Saturday, May 18, 2024.
The Walk and Worship Rally are open to all churches, families, community leaders, and businesses, who want to “Celebrate Jesus” in unity, love, and joy–outside the walls of buildings and churches.

The Walk assembly STARTS at the Central HS parking lot at 10 AM, then begins at 11 AM, and ENDs at 11:30 AM in the Town Square. The Worship Rally STARTS at 11:30 AM in the Town Square with music, remarks, worship, food, and prayer. Celebrate Jesus-Bemidji @ Nymore Park

Celebrate Jesus with OneVoice on Saturday, May 18! The community is invited to this free event at Nymore Park on Grant Ave SE in Bemidji. Celebrate Jesus begins with food and fun at 3:30 with a menu of pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans and chips & dip. There’ll be a bounce house, corn hole, face painting and more! Your QFM will provide the soundtrack, playing all your favorite Christian radio hits! Live worship begins at 5:30 followed by a program where you’ll hear stories of hope and celebration. Come together with OneVoice Bemidji on Saturday, May 18 for Celebrate Jesus. OneVoice (Net of the North) is a network of pastors and ministry leaders existing to promote making disciples of Jesus Christ in the Bemidji area.

County Emergency Medical Services Celebrates EMS Week 2024

COUNTY EMS, IN FERTILE, MN, WILL HOST AN EMS WEEK OPEN HOUSE ON SATURDAY, MAY 25, 2024 FROM 11:00AM – 2:00PM!

National EMS Week: “Celebrating 50 Years of EMS”!

Tour the ambulance and see the equipment!

There will be a bouncy house for the kids; games; complimentary coffee, cookies, and Kool-Aid; and learning stations.

We will have a food vendor for you to purchase lunch – back by popular demand: Barnyard Bites!

Meet our team of dedicated EMTs and paramedics who give of themselves every day to alleviate pain and suffering in our service area.

Participate in FREE Hands-Only CPR and STOP THE BLEED training. Visit www.stopthebleed.org and click on the Get Trained link, then come to our open house for hands-on validation of your new skill!

Drop off your expired medications to support the National Prescription Drug Take Back program; you can also drop off unneeded miscellaneous medical supplies (diabetic supplies, adult diapers and chucks, wound care items, etc).

We will have a Kids’ Coloring Contest. Coloring sheets can be picked up at County EMS or participating area businesses during the week and can be dropped off during the open house any time before 2:00 pm on May 25, 2024. Kids preschool to 12th grade are encouraged to participate. Winners will be selected in different categories and published on our Facebook and Instagram pages!
